Stevie, ye Beauty!!!

Sometimes, when things are at its bleakest is when you can expect something spectacular. Liverpool didn't disappoint. True to form, after plunging to the lowest depths imaginable, they achieve the sensational!

LIVERPOOL 2-0 INTER MILAN

Gerrard 90"

Inter Milan are 11 points clear on top of Serie A and unbeaten. Beaten just once all year in the Champions League. It didn't look like Liverpool was going to make it the second defeat in 6 months. Not till the 85th minute that is. Dirk Kuyt, a much maligned striker (I admit to chastising him several times) finally does something of note, ie SCORING! Against Inter Milan at that! And as the game ended and people were expecting Liverpool to hold on to their 1 goal advantage, guess who steps up?

Captain Fantastic! Who else but Gerrard, Steven Gerrard.

He smacked in an absolute pearl of a shot, incomparable placing from 20 yards at such an acute angle to garner a substantial lead for Liverpool! 1-0 is slim, 2-0 is steady! Inter need a miracle in Italy. Unless Liverpool forget how to defend or they pay off the referee, Liverpool are pretty much through. Who could write a script like this? This is why I force myself to wake up at 6 30am and turn on the TV. For moments like these. I don't know if Liverpool can make the final or win the competition, but I'm going to savour the good times while they last. YNWA

I now honestly think he's good enough and an integral part of the team. I think he has made himself indispensable to the club. Played heaps better than Robbie Keane. So I salute Dirk Kuyt!!!
